College of Agriculture,R nagar has conducted a free health camp in collaboration with RC KRISHI, Sunshine Hospital and Maa ENT Hospital 19th October 2024 focusing on audiometry tests and knee joint issues. Held at the PJTAU Health Centre in Nagar, the camp attracted a large number of participants from the local community, eager to benefit from specialized medical consultations and screenings. Dr.G.Jayashree,Dean of Agriculture, Dr.Jella Satyanarayana,Dean of Student Affairs, Dr.C.Narendra Reddy, Associate Dean,College of Agriculture, Dr.C.Padma Veni, Incharge health centre presided over the inaugral function. Dr. Sagar Zeiti (Ortho), Dr. Lakshmi Prasad (Ortho), Dr. Sidra Siddique (ENT) participated in the campalong with their staff from Sunshine and Maa ENT hospitals, hyderabad. The camp was designed to address two crucial areas of healthcare hearing assessments and knee joint problems. Audiometry tests were conducted by experienced ENT surgeons from Maa ENT Hospital,who provided expert consultations and guidance on hearing-related concerns. These tests were especially beneficial for elderly participants and those with suspected hearing impairments, offering them a chance to receive early diagnosis and treatment options. Simultaneously, orthopaedic surgeons from Sunshine Hospital addressed knee joint problems, a common health issue affecting many, particularly the elderly and individuals with sedentary lifestyles. The surgeons provided on-site consultations, diagnostic screenings, and advice on treatment options, including exercise regimens, medications, and in some cases, recommendations for further interventions like physiotherapy or surgery. Around 130 patients availed the facilities like digital x-ray and audiometry in the camp. The collaboration between Sunshine Hospital, Maa ENT Hospital and PJTAU with the help of Rotary Club and Sarvejena Trust ensured that the event was well-organized and beneficial for the local population. The initiative was part of an ongoing effort by these institutions to promote health awareness and provide accessible healthcare services to the community. Participants expressed their gratitude for the free consultations and screenings, highlighting the importance of such initiatives in promoting preventive healthcare. Organizers from PJTAU noted that similar camps would be held regularly to cater to the healthcare needs of the community. This camp marks a successful step in addressing key health concerns and fostering a stronger bond between the medical community and the public.
