Organized On-campus Training Programme on Best management practices in Kharif Crops to the farmers of Sangareddy and Medak at DAATTC, Sangupet on 28-06-2023

DAATTC, Sangupet. Coordinator (i/C) organized on-campus Training programme on 28.06.2023 on Best management practices in Kharif crops ( Paddy, Cotton , Redgram and Maize) and Horticultural crops (Chilli and Tomato) to the farmers of Sangareddy and Medak. The programme was chaired by, Dr. M. Vijay Kumar Principal Scientist (Sugarcane) & Head, ARS, Basanthapur and J.Vijay Coordinator, and Dr. CH. Pallavi Scientist (CP) , Thornala, Vice principal J. Spandana participated in this programme. K. Saritha Coordinator (i/C) and scientist (horticulture) briefed about the training programme and explained about suitable vegetables for cultivation during Kharif and varieties suitable and gave important suggestions for the cultivation of vegetables. Dr. M. Vijay Kumar Principal Scientist (Sugarcane) & Head created awareness to the farmers on Pulses package of practices, varieties released through the PJTSA University and their special characteristics and also suggested the farmers about sugarcane cultivation. Sri. J.Vijay coordinator, DAATTC, Thornala explained about paddy nursery management, suitable herbicides for different types of weeds, fertilizer management, and IPM practices for paddy stem borer. Ch. Pallavi Scientist (CP) explained HDPS cotton, seed rate, spacing, application of Mepiquat chloride in different stages of crop growth, herbicide application and fertilizer management. Vice principal J. Spandana suggested the farmers about biofertilizers- and their uses. seed treatment and soil application. Finally, Smt,K. Saritha, Coordinator (i/c) and Scientist, DAATTC concluded the programme with vote of thanks.
